Structured Legal are legal advisory and commercial consultants. Their WordPress site sat on retail shared hosting behind Cloudflare, with the firm's email on Google Workspace. We moved the hosting onto Liga's managed platform as part of a wider consolidation across the group, without interrupting either the site or the mail.
The Challenge
A law firm's email is not something you experiment with. Mail records and web records are configured in the same place but fail in very different ways: a mistake on the website costs you a page for a few minutes, while a mistake on the mail records silently bounces client correspondence — and you find out days later from the client. The migration had to move the site while leaving the firm's Google Workspace mail routing untouched.
Our Solution
We took a full backup of the site files and database before touching anything, so there was always a known-good state to return to. Because DNS was already served by Cloudflare, we could stage the migrated site on the new host, verify it in full while the live site kept serving, and then repoint the origin — a change that propagates in seconds and reverses just as quickly. The mail records were deliberately left alone, so Google Workspace delivery was never in the path of the change at all.
The Results
The site now runs on managed hosting with a proper backup position behind it, and the firm's mail was never at risk. Web and mail sit under one arrangement the firm can get support on, instead of a retail account with no one accountable for it.
